FICTION NOTICE — READ FIRST

Offworld Careers is a work of speculative fiction and design. Every organization, agency, requisition, certification, salary figure, and article on this site is fictional and published for entertainment, worldbuilding, and creative purposes. No listing constitutes an offer of employment, and no application will result in employment. Some depicted role categories are informed extrapolations of real aerospace and space-industry professions and may plausibly emerge in some form during the 2030s; their depiction here remains fiction. Any resemblance to real organizations, missions, or persons is coincidental.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only what you actively provide: identity and contact details for registries, inquiries, proposals, incident reports, and purchases. Payment-card details are entered only on SUMIT's hosted payment page and are never received or stored by the Site. We retain transaction identifiers, product, amount, currency, invoice reference, fulfillment status, and the contact details needed to deliver and support a purchase. We also collect consent-based, first-party journey events and technical fault data to improve reliability.

2. How We Use Data

Registry emails are used solely to send occasional updates about the Site and its fictional universe. Analytics events are aggregated, are not sold, and are used to improve content and site experience. We do not use your data for advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.

3. Legal Basis and Consent

Processing is based on your consent, given at the point of submission. You may withdraw consent at any time by requesting removal of your data through the contact channels on the About page, and we will delete your records within 30 days.

4. Data Retention and Security

Data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes above, stored with an established cloud infrastructure provider using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we limit collection to minimize exposure.

5. Security and Enforcement Logs

For security, abuse prevention, and legal protection, we maintain technical logs that may include IP addresses, browser and device information, timestamps, error reports, submitted content, and interactions with the Site's automated (AI) officials and tools. These logs are used to detect and investigate abuse, enforce the Terms of Use, protect the Site and its owner against legal claims (including copyright-infringement claims arising from uploads), and may be disclosed where required by law. Enforcement logs are retained for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes, which may exceed the retention period of voluntarily provided data.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the GDPR and similar frameworks), you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any right, contact us via the About page; we respond to verified requests within 30 days.

7. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a minor has submitted data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will be noted prominently.
