THE DEVELOPMENT
CORPS

This platform is not only a world to read — it is a world to build. The Development Corps commissions students and early-career builders as engineers of the Authority. You claim real Engineering Directives, build with real AI tooling — RAG pipelines, agent tools, orchestration — under a real compute budget, and merged work runs in production, credited to you forever.

Play it as a game. Leave with a portfolio.

WHY THE CORPS EXISTS

PILLAR 01

Real Skills, In-World

Every directive teaches a 2027-grade skill — RAG pipelines, MCP-style tool building, multi-agent orchestration, token cost control — wrapped as official Authority engineering work. You don't do exercises. You ship.

PILLAR 02

A Living Portfolio

Merged work runs in production, credited to your call sign on a public Officer Record you can link from a CV or LinkedIn. Your portfolio is not a repo — it's a role in a live world with rank, plates, and a Commission Certificate.

PILLAR 03

Agents Run the Desk

The Quartermaster assigns directives and tracks your compute rations. The Inspector reviews every submission against its acceptance criteria and rules in institutional form. The Provost mentors — a RAG agent built on the very Canon you extend.

PILLAR 04

Build Worlds That Work

File a world as a working module: structured data, a simulation function, and a sub-agent that answers questions about it. Approved worlds enter the public record under your name — fiction with an API.

THE SERVICE LIFECYCLE

  1. 1

    ENLIST

File your enlistment. Choose a track: Cadet (product & content), Engineer (functions & RAG), Architect (agents & tools).

  2. 2

    CLAIM A DIRECTIVE

Pick an Engineering Directive from the board. Each carries a full spec, acceptance criteria, a compute-ration budget, and points.

  3. 3

    BUILD IN THE FORGE

Work in your own sandbox fork with your allocated tokens. The Provost agent answers technical questions from the Canon.

  4. 4

    FACE THE INSPECTOR

Submit. The Inspector agent verifies every acceptance criterion and every listed test, then approves or returns with institutional notes.

  5. 5

    MERGE TO CANON

Approved work is reviewed by a human maintainer and merged via GitHub pull request. Your call sign enters the permanent record.

TWO WAYS TO SERVE

As a Citizen

Explore requisitions, file archive entries, vote in the Tribunal, charter expeditions. The world runs whether or not you ever write a line of code — and everything the Corps builds makes it richer for you.

As an Engineer

Behind the world sits a modern agentic stack. Corps engineers extend it: index the Technical Canon for retrieval, register new tools the Registrar can call, wire simulation functions into world records, and learn to keep every token accounted for.

RECRUITMENT DESK

Join the Founding Cohort

The first muster is limited to 30–70 seats. Founding engineers receive a numbered commission, priority on flagship directives, and their call sign in the permanent colophon of the platform. No prior experience required for the Cadet track.
